Contemporary Evergreen Sanctuary
This south-facing Surrey garden was designed to be an inviting, foliage-rich evergreen retreat that surrounds you with greenery. The contemporary rectilinear layout is paired with warm material tones, sub-tropical planting and an abundance of year round perennial interest inbetween the evergreen structure.

Drought-tollerant, foliage-first planting
The scheme as you step out into the garden combines a rich, warming blend of drough-tollerant contrasting foliage plants such as Pinus Mugo, Euphorbia 'Miners Merlot', Imperata 'Red Baron' and Oenothera lindheimeri 'Siskiyou Pink' create a warming palette of deep greens, glaucus tones, lime and maroon.

Dynamic, fiery summer tones
Blends of dense, warming hot tones emerge throughout Summer where long-flowering Alstromeria 'Indian Summer' pairs with Achillea 'Milly Rock Red', Euonymus, and Heuchera 'Wild Rose'.

Dramatic Foliage
Extra-large foliage specimens such as Dicksonia antarctica, Tetrapanax papyrifer, and Canna ‘Indian Shot’ introduce bold drama, while exotic flowering plants like Passiflora add a touch of the Mediterranean, bringing a holiday feel home.

Evening Ambience
A simple lighting scheme uplighting specimen trees, combined with the moon feature light create a warm early-evening tone.

Reflective & Calm
A ecologically safe dye was added to the Corten steel water bowl to reflect the shadows and light, creating a calming atmosphere and encouraging wildlife.

Interior Harmony
The hard-landscaping materiality and palette mirrors the interior style of the home, creating a harmonious continuation of design from inside to out.
"It's our green sanctuary where we can escape and feel completely secluded, it takes us to another place. Even in winter, it’s full of life, interest and texture."
